This week we will be focusing on Identifying and Appreciating the Good in Others. We want to invite your student to wear maize & blue on Mondays to celebrate the Positivity Project. To check this out at home, you can access the P2 for Families at https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/  The password is P2. 


Nuts & Bolts

  • Wednesday April 13th is NOT a late start. This is a change from our published calendar.

  • Keep your kids in layers! This spring weather can be tricky.

  • Kids should bring a full water bottle to school everyday as well as a healthy snack.
  • Stay tuned for upcoming testing dates and information. Third graders take the NWEA reading and math tests and the M-STEP reading and math tests.

What to Work on at Home

To keep your student practicing the skills we are working hard on at school, please consider having them work on:

Reading- 20-30 minutes/day.

Spelling- Students will receive spelling words on Monday and take their test on Friday. Please make sure they study their words every night.

IXL Math Practice- Please have your child work on IXL: Z at home for 10 mins a day or  Khan Mappers

Class this Week

Math- We will start Unit 6: Measuring length, time, liquid, volume, and weight. In this unit, students generate and represent length measurement data in halves and fourths of an inch on line plots. They learn about and estimate relative units of measure including weight, liquid volume, and time, and use the four operations to solve problems involving measurement.

Reading- This week we will focus on Unit 10: Making Inferences. We will be using our detective skills to find what the text says, what we know about the text, and form inferences about our characters or plot. 

Writing- Students will work on writing a short script about their puppet. We will be creating short videos using a green screen to create a finished project.

April 19th: ELA M-Step Test.
April 20th: Late Start. Arrive at 9:20.
April 27th: Late Start. Arrive at 9:20.

  October 25th - October 29th This week we will be focusing on  Creativity ! We want to invite your student to  wear   maize & blue on Mondays  to celebrate the Positivity Project.  To check this out at home, you can access the P2 for Families at  https://posproject.org/p2- for-families/   The password is P2.  Fall Festival Party *For party day, c ostumes can be worn all day (no gore or weapons). We ask that anything that may be distracting to the school environment be saved for home celebrations. Students may wear masks along with their costume (not costume masks alone).
