What to Work on at Home
To keep your student practicing the skills we are working hard on at school, please consider having them work on:
Reading- 20-30 minutes/day.
Spelling- Students will receive spelling words on Monday and take their test on Friday. Please make sure they study their words every night.
IXL Math Practice- Please have your child work on IXL DD.6-19 at home for 10 mins a day.
Class this Week
Math- We are working on Unit 2: Area and Multiplication. In this unit, students encounter the concept of area, relate the area of rectangles to multiplication, and solve problems involving area.
Reading- This week we will start Unit 3. We will focus on the sequence of events in a story. When your child is reading, ask them the order in which events are happening. They can summarize from beginning, middle, to end, or, they can tell you the steps in which something takes place. (For example, the steps to make a craft if they are reading nonfiction.)
Writing- We will working on editing and submitting all assignments in Google Classroom. Several students have incomplete pieces or pieces that require editing and some revision.
