Nuts & Bolts
We are in need of Clorox wipes and would love any donations! Thank you!!
NO SCHOOL Friday, February 18th and Monday, February 21st.
Please make sure to send your child with coats and cold weather gear for outside recess when needed.
- Kids should bring a full water bottle to school everyday as well as a healthy snack.
What to Work on at Home
To keep your student practicing the skills we are working hard on at school, please consider having them work on:
Reading- 20-30 minutes/day.
Spelling- Students will receive spelling words on Monday and take their test on Friday. Please make sure they study their words every night.
IXL Math Practice- Please have your child work on IXL H and assignments in Google Classroom at home for 10 mins a day.
Biography - We are working on these for minimum of 30 minutes a day plus some read to self time. These need to be finished by Friday
Class this Week
Math- We are finishing Unit 4: Relating Multiplication to Division. In this unit, students learn about and use the relationship between multiplication and division, place value understanding, and the properties of operations to multiply and divide whole numbers within 100. They also represent and solve two-step word problems using the four operations.
Reading- This week we will focus on Unit 7: Inferencing and Making Predictions. We will work on making inferences during our read aloud, in small groups and independently.
Writing- Students will use their biography and notes to create a draft essay to use for their final essay or their slideshow project. Eventually, students will present their biographies to the class.
Social Studies- We will begin our next unit, Government. In this unit, students will understand the purposes of government and how the government of Michigan works to fulfill those purposes.

February 18: NO SCHOOL.
February 21: NO SCHOOL.
February 23: Late Start. School begins at 9:20.
February 24: Virtual Lego Night. More information in the weekly Brown School Blog.
March 2: Late Start. School begins at 9:20.
March 4: Half Day- Dismissal ar 12:09 + Variety Show.
