Homework

  • 12 units on Lexia Core 5 this week 

  •  read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud. 

  • IXL Third grade F.1-8,  D.3-4

  • Finish 3 paragraph “Scared” writing


Social Studies

We are Moving through the five themes of geography with Michigan as a focus in those discussions.


Reading

We have been focusing our learning on understanding character actions and emotions. We are diving into our text and looking for a deeper understanding of characters. 

  • I am also encouraging students to stick with one book and read it cover to cover. 


Writing

We are continuing to write personal narratives. The focus will be on adding details.


Word Study 

Lists will be going home Mondays with a 12 question quiz on Fridays.


Math

In math we are working on addition and subtraction with regrouping using the traditional method.  In addition we are starting to memorize the multiplication facts.

The Student Council invites you to fill Santa’s sack to help those less fortunate by donating to Toys for Tots. Classrooms will be collecting donations Monday, December 6 through Friday, December 10. The two classes that bring in the most donations will receive a pizza party with Silver Beach Pizza courtesy of Chris Thompson at The Mitten Insurance Agency.
