  • Our Nutcracker show will take place on December 16th from 7:30 - 8:00. Kids are already practicing and getting so excited!

What to Work on at Home

To keep your student practicing the skills we are working hard on at school, please consider having them work on:

Reading- 20-30 minutes/day.

Spelling- Students will receive spelling words on Monday and take their test on Friday. Please make sure they study their words every night.

IXL Math Practice- Please have your child work on IXL F at home for 10 mins a day. If they are successful with standard F, let them try standard G!

Class this Week

Math- We are working on Unit 2: Area and Multiplication. In this unit, students encounter the concept of area, relate the area of rectangles to multiplication, and solve problems involving area.

Reading- This week we will start Unit 2. We will focus on analyzing characters and finding traits to attach to them. When your child is reading, ask them to tell you about their character. They should be able to tell you a trait that their character is like and an example from the text of why they feel that way.

Writing- We will working on Notetaking! To learn this important skill, we will read about turkeys and take notes on what we learn. We will use these notes soon for our next writing piece!

Science- We are working on Unit 1: Power of Flower. In this unit, students discover how plants reproduce by exploring the process of pollination and fruiting. They also investigate how plant traits are inherited from parent plants, and how favorable plant traits can be enhanced by humans via artificial selection.
