Homework

This week students need to do 12 units on Lexia Core 5 this week and read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud.

Social Studies

We are starting our study of Michigan History with learning all about Michigan’s State Symbols.


Reading

We are reviewing how to build reading stamina and comprehension.  I am also taking this time to assess each student so I will have many pieces of data to share with you at conferences.


Writing

We are spending our writing time working on writing paragraphs about small moments. Students will be sharing their writing with you next week. Please take a moment to read their first attempts this year at quick personal narratives.


Math

We are working on understanding multiplication. The extra practice in IXL E will help solidify their understanding.

Reading We have been focusing our learning on understanding character actions and emotions . We are diving into our text and looking for a deeper understanding of characters.  I am also encouraging students to stick with one book and read it cover to cover.  Writing We are continuing to write personal narratives.   October 25th - October 29th This week we will be focusing on  Creativity ! We want to invite your student to  wear   maize & blue on Mondays  to celebrate the Positivity Project.  To check this out at home, you can access the P2 for Families at  https://posproject.org/p2- for-families/   The password is P2.  Fall Festival Party *For party day, c ostumes can be worn all day (no gore or weapons). We ask that anything that may be distracting to the school environment be saved for home celebrations. Students may wear masks along with their costume (not costume masks alone).
